In order to develop his game further, he decided to take classes with his coach, Samresh around April 2026, which has been very beneficial for him. Since then, he learned several tactics and shown a lot of improvement. Thomas is very passionate about chess; he regularly watches videos online to learn new moves. He continues to play with his father and hopes to beat him soon. Her father was her first mentor, guiding her in the basics and helping her build a strong foundation and passion for the game. From Grade 3 onwards, she began representing her school in various chess tournaments and inter-school competitions, gaining valuable experience and confidence. A family friend whose son showed great improvement at Brilliance Chess Academy under Coach Samresh recommended the academy to us. Based on this, we enrolled Midhah at Brilliance Chess Academy. Since joining, she has improved her skills through regular training and expert coaching. When recent regional situations in the Gulf unpredictably hampered outdoor activities and routines, Keerthana didn’t let the limitations narrow her world. Instead, she opened up a small, unassuming chessboard at home. What began as friendly matches with family and engaging online games quickly ignited a powerful passion. In a quiet room in Doha, away from the disruptions outside, Keerthana found a world of endless strategy and focus. Before discovering chess, Keerthana was already known for her vibrant creative soul. She is an amazing singer, an artist who expresses her thoughts through beautiful drawings, and a young writer who pens her own heartfelt poetry. Chess, rather than clashing with her creative nature, has added a magnificent new feather to her cap. It bridged the gap between logic and imagination. The same mind that visualizes metaphors for poems and melodies for songs now visualizes complex tactical combinations on the board. The impact of chess has beautifully rippled into her everyday personality: Patience & Focus: She has developed the rare ability to pause, observe, and deliberate before making a move. Persistence:Keerthana tackles difficult positions and challenging schoolwork alike with a newfound refusal to give up. She is very eager to learn new things and enjoys playing challenging games. Chess has helped her develop patience, focus, and confidence. She loves playing chess whenever she gets the opportunity and sees every game as a new chance to think, learn, and improve. Under the guidance of her coach, Dara Chetana, at Brilliance Chess Academy, she has developed the ability to sit with focus for longer periods and think more deeply before making a move. Through chess, she is learning not to rush and to wait for the right opportunity. It has also helped her analyze situations and find solutions independently. Regular practice has made her more disciplined and consistent. Additionally, chess has contributed to improving her memory, which is helping her in her academic studies as well. We are happy to see her progress and her growing interest in the game.
