Welcome to Brilliance Chess Academy internal tournament Blogpost! Brilliance Chess Academy is organizing it’s second internal Chess tournament with the name Chess Carnival for the kids to give them the International exposure! More than 11 country kids of Brilliance Chess Academy are playing in this internal tournaments – it’s a great opportunity for our kids to participate and play with fellow academy kids all across!!

We Understand you all are excited to play and show us great games but there will be tough moments like loosing games, instead of getting disheartened – take them as learning experience and improve and get stronger for next time ! Trust us, By Participating in these tournaments – you are already a Champion!

Good News – Participation certificate is for all! And the Top 10 players from every category will get special recognitions! ✨

Eligibility Criteria – Kids who joined Brilliance Chess Academy before 5th February 2025 are eligible to Play

Pre- Requisite for games

Ensure you are using “chrome” browser. Set your Google Chrome Browser as Default Browser (Go to your Control Panel →All Control Panel Items →Default Browsers →Set your default program →Web browser → Google Chrome)
Login to Lichess and save password in chrome. So no need to enter password again.
Go to your Lichess →Preferences →Game Behaviors →Pre-moves →No and Promote to Queen → Never
Tournament Rule

Platform: Lichess, Each kid will use the same Lichess ID throughout the tournament.
Tournament will be conducted in Arena format
Time Control: 07 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move 1 for Category A and B. For Category C, Time control will be 10+5
Duration of Tournament: 60 minutes for Category A, 70 minutes for Category B and 90 minutes for Category C
Walkover Time: as per Lichess
Tiebreaks: Lichess tie-break will be used
Certificates : Certificates will be awarded to all the kids. Top 10 winners from every category will get special recognitions. 
Illegal activities: Taking any help from a book, device, or person is strictly prohibited. If any player found doing so will be disqualified from the event.
Anti-Cheating: Use of external assistance is not allowed. All the games will be thoroughly analyzed for anti-cheating purposes. If any player founds using an engine will be disqualified. If any player found suspicious, Arbiter may take him to separate fair-play room to share screen or to observe camera in more clear way.
Disqualification: If any player conceals his identity (different identity) or misbehaves with arbiters, players and organizer will be expelled from the event without any prior notice.
Discussion during
Game Analysis : A player may talk only to an Arbiter if any technical issue arises. Analysis or discussion with other players is not allowed in any case.
Lichess Standings will be considered for the final selection of top 10 kids.
A player is allowed to use only one Lichess Account throughout the tenure of the league. If the account gets closed/flag red for any reason, the player will not be allowed to participate in further rounds. If players account gets banned post the event, the results will be adjusted to forfeit the winning in all the rounds.
