Parent Feedback –
Agastya, a 10-year-old boy residing in Doha, Qatar, and currently studying at Newton British Academy in Barwa City. His interest in chess began when he learned the basics of the game online. Motivated by his newfound passion, he expressed a desire to buy an elaborate chessboard. Recognising his enthusiasm, as parents we enrolled him in chess classes in July 2024, where he started training under the guidance of his coach, Sarbojit Paul, alongside other young learners.
Since beginning his formal lessons, Agastya’s chess skills have advanced rapidly. His understanding of tactics has deepened, and his interest in the game has grown significantly. So committed is he to chess that he refuses to miss a lesson, even during his exam periods. Through chess, Agastya has learned to be more patient, developing strategies to outthink his opponents, and his cognitive skills have notably improved. Determined to earn the chessboard he has long wished for, Agastya continues to work hard, both in his lessons and games, striving to become an even better player.
