Savni Sabith an 11-year-old, has been enjoying her chess journey for the past one year. She joined Brilliant Academy of Chess in August last year and has been learning under the guidance of Ms. Dara Chetana Ma’am. Over this period, she has developed a good understanding of different chess tactics, openings, strategies and endgame concepts. She especially enjoys discovering the interesting tricks and possibilities that make every chess game challenging and exciting for her.
Apart from her regular classes, Savni also spends time practising chess at home and playing online. We have noticed a positive change in her concentration, confidence, logical thinking and problem-solving ability. Most importantly, chess has encouraged her to think carefully before making decisions and to approach situations more logically. We are happy to see her developing this interest and look forward to watching her progress further in the game.
Coach Feedback:
One of the best things about Savni is that she is such a sweet and positive girl. Whenever I randomly ask her how her day was, she always says, “It was amazing, ma’am!” with a big smile. Her positive nature always makes me happy, and it is really nice to see how cheerful she is during our classes.
When Savni initially started, she was quite worried about losing rating points and often thought about how she could improve her rating. I suggested that she focus more on regular practice and started involving her more in tactical activities. She took that seriously and began practicing tactics every day. Since then, I have seen a very good improvement in her games, and she has started winning regularly.
Apart from chess, Savni is also a very lovely child. She sometimes compliments me, shares little things with me, and is always very sweet during our classes. I really enjoy teaching her, and it is wonderful to see her becoming more confident in chess.
Savni is truly a lovely student, and I am very happy with the progress she has made so far. I hope she continues with the same positivity and regular practice and keeps improving in the future.
