Our son Viraaj Sharma is 5 years old and was introduced to chess nearly a year ago when my sister gifted him a chess set for his birthday in 2024. Since then, his love for the game has only grown stronger. Under the wonderful guidance of Dara Chetana Ma’am, Viraaj is learning quickly and enjoying every bit of the journey.
He looks forward to his practice sessions with great excitement and shows remarkable dedication for his age. Chess has become a part of his daily routine, and he often tells us he wants to become like Magnus Carlsen one day! As parents, we are delighted to see his passion and progress, and truly grateful for the nurturing environment that encourages him to thrive.
Coach Feedback –
It has been a truly delightful experience coaching Viraaj. From the very first trial session, I was genuinely impressed by the level of interest and enthusiasm he showed towards the game of chess. For a five-year-old, his ability to grasp concepts quickly and apply them with such clarity was remarkable. His natural love for the game and eagerness to learn were not only inspiring but also motivating for me as a coach.
Since the day he joined, I have consistently observed notable improvements in his gameplay. Whether it’s during practice sessions or tournaments, Viraaj’s performance has steadily progressed, and his rank has only gone up — a testament to his dedication and sharp learning ability.
What makes Viraaj stand out is not just his talent, but also his discipline. He is calm, quiet, and extremely focused during classes. He listens attentively, applies what he learns, and shows a maturity beyond his age.
