With 1550+ BCA Kids coming together for one of our biggest competitive experiences yet, the Brilliance Champions Cup 2026 is designed to give our young players the opportunity to compete, challenge themselves, learn from every game and experience the excitement of championship chess.

🚀 Tournament Format

1️⃣ Qualification Arena — 19th September 2026

Every eligible BCA Kid will compete in their respective Lichess Arena.

• ⭐ Rising Stars: 0–699 Rapid — Top 150 qualify
• 🏆 Future Champions: 700–1049 Rapid — Top 80 qualify
• ⚡ Chess Titans: 1050+ Rapid — Top 40 qualify

Time Control:
Rising Stars & Future Champions — 7+5
Chess Titans — 10+5

2️⃣ Championship Swiss — 26th September 2026

Qualified players will compete in a 6-round Swiss Championship:

• ⭐ Rising Stars — 150 players | 6 rounds | 7+5
• 🏆 Future Champions — 80 players | 6 rounds | 7+5
• ⚡ Chess Titans — 40 players | 6 rounds | 10+5

Win = 1 point | Draw = ½ point | Loss = 0 points

Players are not eliminated after one loss. Lichess will manage pairings, clocks, results and standings.

🔗 Official BCA Tournament Team

Brilliance Chess Academy Official Tournament Team

All eligible kids have already been added to the Official BCA Tournament Team by their respective coaches.

No action is required from parents. Please simply ensure your child uses the correct Lichess account throughout the tournament. 

💻 Before the Games

Please ensure that your child:

• Uses Google Chrome.
• Can successfully log in to Lichess before tournament day.
• Has a stable internet connection and working device.
• Uses the same Lichess account throughout the event.
• Has Premoves set to OFF in Lichess Game Preferences.
• Has Promote to Queen set to Never.

📜 Tournament Rules

• The tournament will be conducted entirely on Lichess.
• External assistance, including chess engines, books, other devices or help from another person, is strictly prohibited.
• Games may be reviewed for anti-cheating/fair-play purposes.
• Any player found using external assistance may be disqualified.
• Players must not discuss an ongoing game with other players or receive outside assistance.
• Players must maintain respectful behaviour towards opponents, coaches, arbiters and organizers.
• Any serious misconduct may result in disqualification.
• Lichess standings will be used for qualification and final standings.
• Walkover/game timing will follow applicable Lichess rules.
• Participation certificates will be awarded to all participating BCA Kids. 🎉
• Special recognition will be given to outstanding performers.

• The Brilliance Champions Cup 2026 is applicable only to eligible Brilliance Chess Academy enrolled kids.
• Participation is voluntary for parents and children.
• By participating, the parent/guardian and child agree to follow the tournament rules and guidelines established by Brilliance Chess Academy.
• Brilliance Chess Academy reserves the right to disqualify players for cheating, unfair play, misconduct or violation of tournament rules.
• Brilliance Chess Academy uses Lichess as the tournament platform and is not responsible for Lichess-related technical issues, platform availability, fair-play decisions or platform-generated rankings.
• Brilliance Chess Academy reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel the event if required by circumstances or management decisions.
• Tournament qualification and results will be based on the official tournament standings and applicable tournament rules.
• By participating in this promotional event, participants and their parents/guardians acknowledge and agree that the event is conducted for recreational and promotional purposes and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, shall not hold Brilliance Chess Academy liable for claims, losses or disputes arising from participation in the event, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
