Lucas Tom Maliackal is a Grade 3 student at JSS International School in Dubai and a passionate young chess player at Brilliant Chess Academy.

His interest in chess began at the age of six when his parents introduced him to the game after being inspired by Gukesh’s championship success. Fascinated by the challenges and creativity of chess, Lucas quickly developed a strong enthusiasm for learning and improving his skills.

To nurture his growing passion, Lucas started training with Coach Shashank at Brilliance Chess Academy. Through consistent practice and dedicated learning, he has mastered a variety of chess tactics, strategic concepts, and game-planning techniques that have strengthened his overall understanding of the game.

What makes Lucas stand out is his genuine love for chess. He enjoys playing with his parents and friends, often taking the initiative to organize games and challenge himself against different opponents. Even during his free time, he enjoys thinking about chess positions, planning strategies, and exploring new ideas to improve his play.

Beyond the chessboard, Lucas has shown noticeable growth in his critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Chess has helped him develop patience, analytical thinking, and the confidence to evaluate situations carefully before making decisions.
