♟️ Brilliance Global Team Chess Championship – Tournament Structure & Details

The Brilliance Global Team Chess Championship will be conducted in two exciting stages, giving every child a fair, competitive, and team-oriented platform to perform and shine! 🚀

This championship is designed to celebrate team chess, where individual performances contribute to collective success.

🔹 Stage 1: Qualification Round – Lichess Arena Tournament

📅 17th January 2026

The championship begins with the Lichess Arena Qualification Stage, conducted across three competitive categories:

• Rising Champions
• Thunder Strikers
• Supreme Legends

In this stage, every child will get the opportunity to play multiple games, score points, and showcase their skills on a global platform. 🌍♟️

➡️ Top 64 players from EACH category will qualify for Team Formation.

🔹 Team Formation Process

After the Qualification Round, teams will be created using a fair and balanced method:

Teams will be formed using a two-band balanced snake distribution, ensuring:
✔️ Competitive balance
✔️ Equal team strength
✔️ Fair representation of skill levels

This system rewards performance while maintaining fairness across all teams.

🔹 Stage 2: Team Battle Round – Lichess Team Battles

📅 24th January 2026

The qualified players will compete in the Team Battle Stage, which will be conducted on the Lichess platform in an official Team Battle format. 🤝♟️

In this stage, teams will face off in a high-energy, strategy-driven environment where individual results directly contribute to the team’s overall score.

This stage focuses on team coordination, responsibility, and collective performance, making it the heart of the Brilliance Global Team Chess Championship. 🏆✨

🏆 Results & Winner Declaration

• Final team rankings and winners will be declared ONLY based on the official Lichess Team Battle standings on 24th January 2026.
• No results from the Qualification Round will determine final winners.
• The Lichess Team Battle leaderboard on 24th January will be considered the final and decisive result for:
  • Team rankings
  • Winner & runner-up teams
  • Overall championship standings

This ensures complete transparency, fairness, and platform-based accuracy in declaring results.

🖥️ Pre-Requisites Before the Game

• Use Google Chrome browser only
• Set Chrome as the default browser
• Login to Lichess and save the password in Chrome
• Go to Lichess → Preferences → Game Behavior
  • Pre-moves: No
  • Promote to Queen: Never

♟️ Lichess Arena Tournament Rules (Qualification Stage)

• Platform: Lichess
• Each player must use one Lichess ID only throughout the championship
• Format: Arena
• Time Control: 7 minutes + 5 seconds increment
• Tournament Duration:
  • Rising Champions: 60 minutes
  • Thunder Strikers: 70 minutes
  • Supreme Legends: 70 minutes
• Walkover Time: As per Lichess rules
• Tie-breaks: Lichess tie-break system

🏅 Certificates & Recognition

• Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants
• Top 64 players from each category qualify for team battles
• Special recognitions will be awarded during the Team Battle Stage

🚫 Fair Play & Anti-Cheating Policy

• No external help (books, devices, people) is allowed
• All games will be analyzed under strict anti-cheating protocols
• Engine usage will lead to immediate disqualification
• Arbiter may request screen sharing or camera monitoring if required

❌ Disqualification Policy

• Multiple or concealed identities
• Misbehavior with arbiters, players, or organizers
• Violation of fair-play rules

➡️ Any violation may lead to immediate expulsion without notice.

🗣️ Communication During Games

• Players may communicate only with the Arbiter for technical issues
• No discussion or analysis with others during active games

📊 Final Selection Criteria

• Lichess standings will be used to determine Top 64 qualifiers per category
• Only one Lichess account is allowed for the entire championship
• If an account is banned or flagged, results will be forfeited
